Okey, just checked the service book for the first time. The Timing belt is 10years old..
Soo, i might do a little engine project just for fun.
What i want to do ( but i'm not sure on everything yet)
- Change timing belt
- Change head gasket to 7a-fe steel one for better compression ( 9.8:1 to 10.3:1 )
- Bigger throttle body ( does anyone now a bigger one that fit bolt on?)
- Check valves for leakage and use a grinding paste on the ones that is leaking
- Copper Core plug wires and Bosch Super 4 plugs with adjusted electrodes ( allready made the plugwires, alittle difference in throttle response)
- Mount the Ebay exhaust manifold
- Get adjustable fuel pressure.

some good things to do bro,
from what iv read the 7afe headgasket will fit the 4afe..
not sure about the TB though, maybe a 7afe one, or port & polish your current on?
why add an adjustable fuel pressure reg? most toyotas run a little rich from factory

I'll mount the fuel pressure regulator just to have something fun to adjust :p
Nah, i have just read that fuel pressure usually gives just as much hp as the other small mods i'm thinking of.
The fuel pressure regulator gave around 2.5bhp on a stock engine in a Nissan Micra 1.3.. I think thats quite good compared to the other small mods i'm planning.
I think i have seen some Turbo starlets throttlebody bolt straight on. It was considerably bigger and the owner said he noticed a good difference in throttle response. Do you know what engine this is?

He welcome to the site.
I just read through this, awesome looking lip.
I can't remember all the things you asked about but I'll try.
8" wheels will be a tight fit 8.5" could be possible but the whole guard will need to be rolled.
2.1/4" exhaust will be plenty for 4a engine and more and there will be to much back pressure and have the reverse effect.
From the sound of what you want to do with the engine I would say and those who know me know I'll say.

Have had a superb weekend on a VAG meeting! Lots of rounds on the track, and met alot of nice people!
Have started on the rims. Measured that the front should be 7.5" and the rear 8"
Guess thats wide enough!
How the rims fit now, i like them!
How i split the rims. Heat on the lip, while i stand in the center

I really like the rims. And with the black + silver/chrome look, the center should be silver or somethin.

Wow, that looks like a dangerous method!! But whatever works I suppose! Nice work. Those rims are really going to look perfect on there. I like the offset, they sit flush. 7.5" and 8" will be wide enough for the Corolla definitely.
But I would keep the wheels the color they already are.... darker gray, gunmetal! Not black, but not silver, either. Looks just right on your paint color! And looks slick.

yeah, will see if i find some colour i like.. a friend have some dark metalic paint laying in his garage.. almost black.. Will maybe ask him if he want to spray them for me!
Gave one senter to another friend who is going to try and glassblast it. if its easy, its ok and he will do it for free..
I renovated some BBS Mahle rims last year, and he used up all the glass on those rims.. so his boss were abit angry because of that :p
