PostSubject: My 93' Corolla from New Zealand (JDM AE100)   Sun May 01, 2011 9:40 am

Hey guys,

This is my 1993 Toyota Corolla SE Limited. It's a Japanese import and has all of the features you would expect out of Japan, except it's now a little different from a bog standard grocery getter Smile

It was completely standard when I bought it, but I've done a number of mods to it over the last 5-years of ownership so far, including a 4A-GE 20v Blacktop swap at the end of 2012. I've almost reached my goal of finding every single optional extra that was available from new, including some of the rarest items, such as the AirFantasy fragrance control system.

This first post will remain updated with all of the current modifications and photos. To view updates in chronological order please scroll through the various posts below this one.

Thanks a lot Ishaq. If you're ever over here I'll have to take you for a spin. It won't be as fast as your 4E-FTE, but I'm sure the Air Fantasy will make up for it

Cheers mate. I take great pride in my engine bay, so I appreciate the fact that you'd be willing to eat off of it, haha Laughing

If you give it one good thorough clean with a can or two of degreaser and a few microfibre cloths it should remain relatively clean forever. You'll have to get your arm in some weird positions, but it's well worth it Smile. You just have to give it a quick dust every month or so to stop any new grime from forming and you'll be as good as gold king

Thank you very much. I didn't want to go too crazy with the body mods, so I kept things as simplistic as possible. My goal was to improve the design, not change it Cool

Thanks!

I bought the BZ Touring headlights secondhand from Malaysia. I could have got them here in New Zealand from a wrecker, but it was a bit cheaper to get them sent from overseas. The brand new ones from Toyota NZ cost a pretty penny Wink. The secondhand ones I bought were about $350 NZD (£170) including shipping and were in 'as new' condition, complete with the wiring and bulbs.

As for the scenery here in New Zealand, it's a lot of fun finding new and interesting spots to take photos of my car Very Happy. There's more shots on my CarDomain page of photos from various other locations when I had my original headlights installed Cool

Here's a shot I took about 10-minutes ago. Just happened to walk outside and saw a rainbow (was actually a double rainbow but the second one wouldn't fit in the frame), so ran inside and grabbed my camera. Didn't have enough time to grab my keys, push the button and unfold the mirrors so they're folded in the photo, haha:

Thanks man. I've been thinking of putting an FX-GT front bumper on, but I'm waiting for one to come into my junkyard in white. I could buy one from a wrecker or brand new from Toyota, but I'm still indecisive if I really want one so I'd rather get one cheap from the junkyard so that I'm not too out of pocket if I decide to take it off, haha.

Thanks a lot Orin Very Happy. I feel your pain brother. It's winter here now and my car is starting to get filthy whenever I take it out Mad. It's only a bit of spray from the wet roads, but it's enough to piss me off. I hope the rain clears up for you so at least one of our cars can remain clean for more than a couple of days Smile
