Shortly after purchasing the car I did a 100,000km service and gave it a good polish
old tensioner was so stuffed the timing belt slapped against the cover
Paint was looking pretty shabby but its starting to look better now.
Random photos of interior stuff
It did have the factory Toyota cassette player with Toyota CD stacker when I got it.
Factory under floor boot organizer. Did these come as standard?
Originally it was auto so that had to be sorted, first I put in a 5speed lsd box but the car would pull to one side so I just put in a normal c56.
Been slowly getting things on the car sorted.
Had some fun with the manual conversion, mounts wouldn't line up, car wouldn't drive straight after a bit of fidling and a 2nd gearbox everytihng is now sorted
Had a small issue with the driveshaft hanger bracket there is a slightly different offset between the auto and manual bracket
Then there was the fun with trying to put a 5 speed gearbox in a post 97 corolla. (post 97 don't usually come with a c56 which has a different bolt pattern on the top mount.)
Left 5 speed nz new 99 corolla (holes are on an angle)
Middle 98 ae101 auto mount (holes are in a line)
Right bzr 6 speed mount (holes are in a line)
Then there is the insulator that bolts to the bracket above and the chassis rail
LH auto ae101 98. RH nz 98 corolla.
And firewall side gearbox mount bracket.
LH manual, RH modified auto.
The shed
Toyota fender protector
Manual finally, the 4speed auto was such a killer for the blacktop.
Brand new TGP shifter boot
Found a little door at pick a part that allows fitting of a cabin filter for ae101 and ae111.
After a bit of research and a small gamble I found a filter from the uk that fits. was about $25 NZ including postage
New genuine toyota wipers, well priced through 1I1. Highly recommended.
Action shot
New interior shots
Installed some new speakers front and rear too, was amazed how well it sounds considering I'm running no amp yet. Wonder how much difference an amp will make.
Rears are in the factory ported enclosures and considering their size still sound great. (Was about $200NZ delivered for front and rears)
Some recent random shots of the car
Did a bit of a restoration job on the grill, the plastic had started peeling off in places so I painstakingly peeled it all off before primer and paint.
roof rack in use
Next on the to do list is Apexi spiral headers, 5zigen miracle fireball exhaust, decat, yellow koni inserts and RSR lowering springs.

i have never seen the under floor boot organizer before, it must be a rare optional extra
really liking the work gone into it, especially the auto to manual conversion
and the Recaros look great in there, how are they mounted btw?
from what i can see in the pics you have the following optional extras :

The BZ clocks (with the economy in the rev counter) i want that part of the clocks lol
the arm rest with the cupholder
cupholders
optional floormats
boot organiser
door visors
folding mirrors
Ign barrel keylight

That is looking kind of showroom. Love corolla's that have the 2 tone paint combination. The organizer you have there is an original toyota accessory. I have 2 of these at the moment. However if your spare wheel is an alloy or full size steel wheel they don't fit snugly under the wheel bay. But with the space saver they close just fine.

Thanks for the comments guys.
When I first got the car the organizer tray had never been used all the little dividers were taped together and lying flat like it would have come from the factory
I'm currently on the hunt for one of these boot liners! And a factory rear lip. Also unsure if I'd rather have the slim style wind deflectors instead.
The seats just bolt in with optional Recaro/toyota rails form the AE111 coupe. And the suede material matched the interior perfectly.

Hey robcam
I have the same model and year and was also considering doing a transmission swap. I was just wondering how difficult it was and how much it cost? I'm working for a mechanic so can do all the labour, but the cost for parts etc. Also I'm in NZ too if that helps. Cheers!

Stuff you need
Blacktop flywheel $100
c56 Gearbox with rear engine mount and slave cylinder $200
Clutch kit from toyota $160
Manual trans fluid $60
Manual driveshaft bearing hanger $30
gearbox mount from late 90's nz new corolla $30
gear shifter and cables $30
clutch pedal and master cylinder $30
Clutch line (probably come with gearbox or clutch. $0
Brake pedal $20
The above is about current market rate for the parts you require
total of $660.
The change is certainly worth the cost as a manual transmission makes so much better use of the cars engine.
